Problem : After completion of secant pile wall and excavation of soil, the contractor had to complete the waterproofing work by spraying wet shotcrete on the secant pile walls. However, the piles of the mast structure around the site prevented the use of a scaffolding that could have been used for manual shotcrete work.
Solution : Based on site visits conducted by ACE service personnel, they provided a diesel engine / electric motor driven Robotic Shotcrete Spraying system to work in tandem with a diesel engine driven shotcrete pump that was placed above the excavation area. The robotic spraying system could move around the piles easily with the help of its rubber crawlers. The telescopic boom with its maximum vertical spraying height of 8.79 m could spray up to the top of the 7 m high secant piles with ease.
The finishing works were carried out by the client using man lifts.
The client was able to complete their shotcrete work on time due to the heavy duty nature and unparalleled capabilities of the shotcrete spraying system.
